Process Alternatives & Combustion, Inc. ( P A & C) was established in 1981 as a sales engineering firm specializing in the application, sale and support of intermediate and big ticket power plant equipment with a focus on steam boilers, combustion equipment, steam and gas powered turbines and turbine generators, burner safety systems, combustion controls, cooling towers, air and water pollution control systems. We now also provide maintenance parts replacement and upgrades for ash conveying systems & steam turbine generators.

The equipment we market can be found in nearly every major industry that utilizes fossil fired steam in the production of their end-product including electrical power. In addition to electric utilities, these industries include food & beverage, pharmaceutical, automotive, chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas production, agricultural refining, pulp & paper, mining, waste to energy and steel. Our dedication to the industrial and utility steam and power clients in Michigan, Northern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania with over 50 years of collective experience has led us to many exciting projects in this region and overseas.

Our reputation coupled with the excellent relationships we maintain with key area suppliers including contractors, construction managers, fabricators, consultants, EPC Contractors as well as a variety of equipment distributors enables us to partner on specific opportunities and deliver more complete scope and streamline projects.

George W. Joniec - President

George has been involved in the budgeting, estimating, application, sales and installation of industrial and utility steam and power plant equipment specialties for 30 years. He has successfully negotiated well in excess of $100 mm in contracts over the last 15 years for capital equipment placed in co-generation, utility generation, IPP, waste to energy, combined and simple cycle and a wide array of industrial steam and power projects.

George is a certified co-generation professional and holds a bachelor’s degree in international business earned at the University of Toledo in 1973.

Tom Ghesquiere – Vice President

Tom has over 20 years of experience in power plant development, engineering, and construction. He has an extensive background with all types of plants: from large pulverized coal units to oil- and gas-fired simple cycle and combined cycle units; from local utility plants to international independent power projects; and from green field projects to upgrades and expansions of existing plants. Tom has worked in the roles of owner, design engineer, and construction manager. In these diverse roles, he was responsible for the specification and purchasing of equipment for all major power plant systems. This experience gives Tom a unique perspective and understanding of client needs.

Tom graduated from Michigan State University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He holds professional engineer licenses in Michigan and Kansas.

Jennifer Joniec – Treasurer/ Office manager

Jennifer has managed the day to day operations for P A & C for 24 years. She also provides inside sales support for parts sales.

Jennifer graduated from the University of Toledo in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree in education specializing in community health education.
